It is the POLICY of SIBED TRANSPORT CO LTD to provide and trade in petroleum products and associated services by incorporating the best practices in Health, Safety, and Security & Environment (HSSE). We shall always manage HSSE as any other business activity. In particular, we shall always implement and continually improve an effective HSSE Management System that fosters sustainability in environmental and safety management through continuous performance improvement and cooperative engagements with our business associates and by supporting public and governmental efforts across all countries where we operate. We have ensured that this management system is appropriate to the purpose and context of our organization, including the nature, scale and environmental impacts of our activities, products and services. We shall always effectively engage with neighbors and communities impacted by our operations. We set targets for improvement and measure, appraise and publicly report our performance. This performance is included in the appraisal and reward of our staff. We also require our contractors to manage HSSE in line with this policy.
This policy provides a systematic approach and a framework to the management for setting, and periodically reviewing, our
HSSE objectives, targets and management programs for each of the processes, services and/or activities.
In SIBED TRANSPORT CO LTD we are all committed to:
1. Pursue the goal of no harm to people.
2. Provide safe and healthy working conditions to prevent work-related injury and ill health
3. Identify, eliminate hazards and adequately manage all risks within the operations,
4. Provide a framework to ensure consultation and participation of workers on matters related to HSSE,
5. Protect the Environment by among other things preventing environmental pollution that may be attributable to our operations, sustainable use of resources and otherwise seek to minimize waste and impacts to natural resources. This will also include the protection of the environment, and other specific commitments relevant to the context of our organization. These may involve sustainable resource use, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and protection of biodiversity and ecosystems.
6. Respect our neighbors and impact positively to societies in which we operate.
7. Comply with all applicable legal requirements and regulations of the countries where we operate, including the voluntary standards to which we subscribe and the HSSE standards of our business associates,
8. Provide our performance data to anyone who might be interested.
9. Create and sustain HSSE awareness across the company through dedicated training and motivation of all cadres of staff and recognition for excellent HSSE performance,
10. Prevent all truck and product related incidents by making all employees fully responsible and accountable for HSSE through meaningful involvement and communication of HSSE objectives and targets,
11. Establish and maintain an alcohol and drugs free workplace together with a program to ensure total compliance,
12. Use and maintain safe fleet through proper selection and design of trucks, supported by an effective preventive maintenance program.
13. Establish and maintain emergency preparedness and response procedures to effectively manage and mitigate emergencies when they do occur.
14. Continually improve HSSE management system to ensure it serves its purpose.
The policy shall be maintained as documented information and is communicated regularly to all staff and will be made available to regulatory agencies, the general public, or other interested parties upon request. This policy will be update annually or whenever there is an event that necessitates earlier review.
